Rates: Tutoring, Economics 101, and Professor Z
The Westside Tutoring
Educational Services Guarantee
We guarantee that Westside-Tutoring’s rates will be lower than any of the local and national tutoring and/or test preparation companies.*
Other companies charge exorbitant fees or tuition to pay for their expensive offices, support staff, and huge advertising budgets.
Think about this for a moment:
Economics 101: There is no free lunch!
The undeniable truth and a universal business fundamental is this:
If they are spending it, you are paying for it!
Westside-Tutoring keeps overhead to a minimum, spending only on what we need to in order to present the best tutoring, test preparation, and education consulting services anywhere.
Westside-Tutoring can offer the best service at the lowest possible price!
Remember that age-old adage:
You get what you pay for!
We offer only private and totally individualized instruction. From day one, you will realize that one-on-one tutoring is far more productive, effective, and efficient dollar-for-dollar than any over-hyped, and usually overcrowded, classroom course.
We guarantee it!
These are the Rates of a Nationally Known Test Preparation and Academic Tutoring Company
- 3 installments of$1,499.67 That’s $4499.01!
- 3 installments of$1,199.67 That’s 3599.01!
- 3 installments of$866.33 That’s $2598.99!
While Westside-Tutoring’s fees are not quoted above, an overview of Westside-Tutoring’s program, and an approximate comparison with the above-mentioned program, is provided below. The fees cited above are based on the rates (pulled from their website) of a well-known, national competitor and are the standard for the industry.
Westside-Tutoring’s fees are based on the needs of the individual, sessions per week, and time per session. Most private tutoring sessions require a time investment of 90 minutes; and they are scheduled 2-5 times per week (for reasons that will become clear during our free, one hour consultation).
Westside-Tutoring and Educational Services only has one program for test prep (i.e., ACT, PSAT, SAT, LSAT, GRE, GMAT, AP exams and subject tests).
Westside-Tutoring does not offer small group or classroom instruction…ever!
- Westside-Tutoring offers an 8 or 12 week program (62 hours in both programs) for test prep, to include: the ACT, PSAT, SAT, LSAT, GRE, GMAT, and various AP and subject tests. Similar programs are offered for the GED, ASVAB, TOEFL, proficiency tests for college admission, and several more.
- The program is based on 62 hours of instruction, including at least two complete practice tests and several partial examinations dealing with areas requiring additional work and are based on the initial, individualized assessment.
- Your overall investment in Westside-Tutoring’s private, individualized test preparation program is competitive with our national competitor’s lowest rate for private tutoring (20 Hrs) and Westside-Tutoring delivers more than three times the hours of instruction and practice test taking (62Hrs)! Westside-Tutoring offers far more for substantially less.
- Finally, all test preparation is taught by Professor John P. J. Zajaros, Sr.
“Professor Z,” as almost all the students call him, is an Eagle Scout. The Eagle Scout was awarded to John Zajaros by the Boy Scouts of America while he was serving as the Senior Patrol Leader, Troop 41, Bethesda-on-the-Bay Lutheran Church, Bay Village, Ohio. The professor attended Bay High School, where he was class president and a member of the student council. He was also a member of the All-Ohio Boy’s Band and the award winning Bay Village High School Symphonic Band (first chair tuba–yup, the tuba). The Professor was also a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s state championship wrestling team(also Bay High), a member of The Choraleers, and a member of the choir. Professor Zajaros also played football, in high school and college; and ran track, setting several records.
Professor Z enlisted in the US Army and is an honorably discharged veteran and Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Professor Z graduated summa cum laude (3.97) with a B.A. in anthropology and history and a minor in psychology. Professor Zajaros has been or is currently a member of Psi Chi (psychology honor society), Phi Alpha Theta (history national honor society), and the Golden Key National Honor Society.
Upon graduation, Professor Z was also recognized by the anthropology department and was awarded the High Achievement in Anthropology Award for research, field work, and the highest GPA. John was then awarded the Miriam White Graduate Assistantship by SUNY-Buffalo (turned down), a graduate assistantship to the University of Arizona (also refused), and a doctoral fellowship, a straight from B.A. to Ph.D. program, bypassing the masters degree completely. The fellowship was 1 of only 6 offered worldwide and was funded by the National Science Foundation and administered by several premier graduate schools in New York. John was also offered an assistant professor position at a well-known college in Manhattan.
After completing his studies, Professor Z returned to Ohio and, with his wife Connie, raised four wonderful children: Jackie, Allie, Kayleigh, and Emily.
The Professor has been coaching, tutoring, and mentoring students for more than 3 decades. Westside Tutoring and Educational Services formally went online in the summer of 2008. John, Connie, the kids, and the grandkids all live in and love Lakewood, Ohio (and we all love Ohio!).
Yes, you heard right!
Two amazing little granddaughters, small and beautiful, are the light in Professor Z’s life. Brynn Elizabeth (23 mos) and Kailyn Christine (4 and precocious) keep all of us busy. The Zajaros Family has been made so much better, so much more of a family (I didn’t think that was possible!), because of them!
Let our family serve yours! Let’s take the first step together….
